The workshop will examine the opportunities for CCS and issues regarding itsdeployment and will bring together international and Indian experts already working in areas including:

• Carbon capture technologies
• Transport, storage and monitoring of Carbon dioxide (CO )
• Regulation, law, economics, safety, environmental and finance

The workshop covered:

• Carbon capture technologies, their relevance for Indian power plants and how they can be added to the portfolio of R&D in theIndian power sector
• Potential options for geological storage of CO in India
• Experiences from international R&D and demonstration projects
• Regulation and policies needed to support CCS
• Environmental and socio-economic impacts
• Costs of CCS
• Development of proposals for CCS R&D projects under Indo-UK collaboration.
